Spaghetti & Meatballs
INGREDIENTS

Tomato Sauce:
- Onion
- 2 tins of chopped tomatoes or passata
- Garlic
- Sugar
- Basil
- Worcestor sauce
- Tabasco
- Tomato puree
Meat Balls:
- 1lb mince
- Half a finely chopped onion
- Plenty of salt & pepper
- Tabasco
- Mixed herbs
- Worcestor sauce
- Tomato ketchup
- Garlic
- Lots of freshly grated parmesan
- Two slices of white bread soaked in milk with the milk then squeezed out of the bread

METHOD

- Sweat your finely chopped onions and garlic add the rest of the ingredients.
- Leave it simmering gently while making the meatballs.
- I put all the meatball ingredients into the food processor and blitz it.
- Then make loads of meatballs slightly smaller than a ping pong ball.
- I bake the meatballs in the oven (170 deg) for about 13 - 15 mins cos I don't like the smoke caused in the kitchen by frying them.
- Bear in mind that by baking them you will create a lot of steam in your oven so it is best to bake the meatballs on a metal grid with something to catch drips below it - I use the grill pan.
- After baking them, add them to the tomato sauce and let them bubble gently for another 10 mins while you cook the spaghetti.
- It is very popular in our house & doesn't take a huge amount of time or effort to make.
- I often make it for dinner when I get home from work.at 6p.m. and it will be on the table easily by 7p.m.
