Spaghetti & Meatballs

  • Sweat your finely chopped onions and garlic add the rest of the ingredients.
  • Leave it simmering gently while making the meatballs.
  • I put all the meatball ingredients into the food processor and blitz it.
  • Then make loads of meatballs slightly smaller than a ping pong ball.
  • I bake the meatballs in the oven (170 deg) for about 13 - 15 mins cos I don't like the smoke caused in the kitchen by frying them.
  • Bear in mind that by baking them you will create a lot of steam in your oven so it is best to bake the meatballs on a metal grid with something to catch drips below it - I use the grill pan.
  • After baking them, add them to the tomato sauce and let them bubble gently for another 10 mins while you cook the spaghetti.
  • It is very popular in our house & doesn't take a huge amount of time or effort to make.
  • I often make it for dinner when I get home from 6p.m. and it will be on the table easily by 7p.m.
