Smoked Mackerel Pate
INGREDIENTS

- 1 smoked mackerel fillet, bones and skin removed
- 2 tbs creamed cheese
- 2tbs creme fraiche
- 1 tsp horseradish sauce
- Juice 1/2 lemon
- Pepper
- Pinch of cayenne or smoked hot paprika

METHOD

Simple, easy, cheap and fantastic starter! Ideal served on top of pastry cases or wheaten bread fingers as an aperitif or starter.
Method:
- Roughly flake the mackerel into a small bowl.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and taste, adjust any of the flavours (lemon, salt, pepper, cayenne) to your taste.
- Don't worry if this seems very strong, once served on a base it tastes fantastic. best thing is smoked mackerel is readily available in almost all super markets!
- But it's even better if you can get the real thing from your local smoking artiste!
